cozumel "Unlimited Snorkel" question(s)

any of you done this excursion? what was it like? is there a beach there too? carnival's site says 2.5 hrs, can you stay longer? how far from the ship is it and can you taxi back. we have 2 daughter, 12 and 16, do simular age kids seem to enjoy it too? thanks

Don't know the specifics on that excursion, but do know that Cozumel is an easy to "do on your own" port. I would suggest taking a taxi ($10) to Chankanaab park ($12 admission). They have excellent snorkeling there (bring your own equipment or rent there), as well as botanical gardens, replica Mayan ruins and village, small mini-golf, small shopping area (no pressure sales), clean bathrooms, restaurant, palapas for shade. It's a beautiful place and you can spend most of the day there, snorkeling, exploring, eating and relaxing. There are numerous threads on the Cozumel board about Chankanaab. Somebody over there might be able to compare it to the Carnival excursion.
