Mobile port

Can anyone tell me a hotel to stay in Mobile that you can leave your car and they will shuttle you to the ship. I know I read somewhere of a place that runs a special to stay there before you cruise and they transport you over and keep your car but I can't remember the name of the hotel or where I even seen it. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Here are some links that may help you. The first is the cruise terminal site. The others are the city of Mobile and the Convention and Vistors Bureau. The Radisson Admiral Semmes is downtown 5 blocks from the terminal. Cruise package is $99 with free parking and shuttle.

We stayed at the Raddison last year on Goverment Street. It did have a park and cruise package that was $99.00 (included one night stay, breakfast and letting you park there using their van to get to and from port). It was great, I don't think it was more than 3 blocks from the terminal, but I could be wrong. I know we walked down to the park next to the terminal the night before and it wasn't a long walk. You can get the information from the Mobile cruise terminal web page I believe.

I actually live in mobile and I think that the Radisson is a very good choice. Very nice hotel and they even have a nice restuarant within. I'm not sure if the radisson owns it, but there is also a high rise parking lot that is monitored daily which is right next to it.

There is one holiday inn which is very nice as well, but be careful because there is also another one as well which is not so great and they are located fairly close.

Which one is the nice one? I'm booked at the Holiday Inn Express (North - Saraland, I think). We needed to stay on the north end of Mobile. I'm curious to hear if you know anything about this one.

Jess, if you are in Saraland it should be fine. I think it is fairly new and right of of I-65 if it's the one I'm thinking of. They just renovated the Saraland exit and most everything around is new. Within 1/2 mile of Walmart and several restaurants. Close to I-165 which will take you straight downtown and deposit you in front of cruise terminal. Saraland is a nice area. Or you might be one exit farther north. Still a nice area but not much around it.

Do you know if the bad one is the Holiday Inn Bellingrath Gardens? I hope not b/c I tried to book the Radisson and it is completely full so I booked Holiday Inn Bellingrath. They said they will shuttle you over and you can leave your car there. If anyone knows the condition of this hotel, please let me know.

Actually, that H/I is in Tillmans Corner right off of I-10 exit 15. A looong way from the gardens. It is a very nice hotel and situated in a travellers dream location. Close to everything you could possibly want. About 20 minutes from the terminal. A good choice. Check out China Town restaurant behind the Lowes on Hwy 90. It looks like an oriental casino. The food is off the hook.
