Booking question? SOS

We are thinking, hopeful, that we will be able to book a short SOS cruise this Friday. The final payment date is Saturday. We have never ever booked a cruise that close. Is there any advantage to waiting till Monday? Will the price go down after the 70 day mark will other cabins open up? I was just wondering because we are so close. Thanks
