Boarding Time?

New to NCL. What time do they usually board? Ship (Breakaway) says it leaves at 4:00 pm from NYC. Will they let us on before noon? Thanks.

They typically start boarding around 11am, but it's a bit unpredictable. Folks usually start showing up around 10am. In the past I've boarded the Jewel or the Gem around 12:30pm. (The Breakaway is new to NYC so there isn't any way to be precise here.)

My ships have departed at 5pm with a muster drill at 4pm. If the Breakaway is leaving at 4pm, that implies muster drill at 3pm. You should still be able to get food until 2 or 2:30pm, and then again about half an hour after the muster drill ends.

Go at that time, to beat the crowds that show up from 1 to 2:30pm. At the early time, you can be on the ship in 20 minutes or less. And you can go to the MDR for lunch. Remember that MDR lunch closes at 2:30 and after that you have to go to the lunch buffet, which is where 95 percent of the passengers go to. The MDR lunch is preferable, as you have a relaxed, served lunch in a leisurely manner instead of the rushed, crowded buffet.
