iambumbo Posted February 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2013 We're stopping at Cozumel next week on RC Navigator of the Seas, so I'm assuming we'll be docking at the International Pier. If that's the case, is walking downtown an option? Friend and I are in good shape and wouldn't mind walking just to check out the scenery on the way, but would just cab it if the walk isn't really safe. Anybody made that walk before? Tom.Terrific Posted February 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2013 We did it a few years ago and enjoyed it. Got to see some stuff you wouldn't ordinarily see from a cab, and took some great photos. Taxi drivers will be offering you a ride downtown or back to the pier all along the route. (No matter which direction you're headed) After shopping and lunch we walked about half way back to the pier when a taxi offered us a ride for $5. With my day pack full of purchases, and both of us full of cerveza's, we accepted his offer. :D Seemed safe enough to us, and we never felt threatened. We'd do it again in a heartbeat. (Gotta get that daily walk somewhere)
CENTEX CRUISER Posted February 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2013 Wife and I walked it once when we were 58.. We are 64 now. Anyhow, it was hot that day, and that was the only problem. We go on back streets by ourselves, and never a problem whatsoever.
BigRed93 Posted February 25, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 25, 2013 It's about 2 miles and sidewalk conditions vary. It's straight walk along the water and safe, it just depends if you tolerate the heat well.
