could it be possible that the Mein Schiff 1 will be put into service with thomson 2014.

she is 1996 build ex celebrity, and with the new ship scheduled may 2014

the Mein Schiff 1 if no longer needed could replace one of the ships not getting a refit.

TUI Cruises have just announced their 2014/15 schedule, and Mein Schiff 1 is still with them. However, they're due another ship in 2015, so perhaps then? Although it would depend on RCL who own 50% of TUI Cruises, and were the ones who transferred ships from Celebrity to TUI. I wonder whether Thomson could end up going 50% with one of the big 3. I think it might be the only way for them to get better and newer ships while retaining the fleet size that they have to cover the number if destinations.

english website explaining the ship due in May 2014

its nice but boy is it huge, like to impossing.

3000+ passengers is alot of bodies in one place

Carrs:(

2506 at double occupancy but fully passengered it seems a bit crowded at 33 tons per passenger. Besides which the casino is tiny with apparently only fruit machines

hopefully thomson won't buy one of these cos however posh and modern it is i won't sail on it without a reasonable casino.

no single cabins either

FTAO Sailaway - I trust you are keeping an eye on this thread - http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1794396 ;)

Many thanks Grez! Will keep a look out on that. With Century's old rumour of going to CDF now false, could it be coming to us? Dry dock for a couple of months then transfer for summer? I'll keep a look out on that thread! ;)
