Renting cars at Ports in Hawaii?

We are going on the "The Pride of American" in July. We want to rent a car on the islands...Can anyone tell me if it is easy to rent cars at the Ports....

I would book ahead to ensure availability. Alamo seems to be the cheapest. All major car companies send shuttles to the ports to pick up clients.

 

Kona - you'll probably want to rent in town. Kona's airport has several car rental agencies, but the airport is ~20 minutes or further away. A taxi ride back from the airport is ~20.00. Also, shuttles from the airport seem to take 20 - 30 minutes to arrive at the port due to bad traffic.

Hi, We rented a car in every port. My husband booked them ahead of time online. We had no problems. The shuttle was always there at the port or we called and it was there in 10 minutes to take us to the car rental agency. We used different agencies on each island. Great way to see alot on the islands!! Cari
