Fishbait17 Posted February 7, 2014 #51 Share Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) On the Epic it was an incliuded perk--now they make you purchase it and the Concierge can not help the process? The Epic used to have both Posh and a dedicated sun deck for Haven guests, but eventually they opened the dedicated sun deck to everyone, leaving only Posh. On the Breakaway and Getaway, the dedicated Haven sun deck remains private and accessible from the Haven itself, which is now two levels. Also, Vibe includes two hot tubs, rentable cabanas, and does not overlook the main pool area (so it's much quieter), and is a larger space than Posh. Although I don't want to run the numbers right now, Vibe cannot accommodate the number of Haven guests onboard the Breakaway. While the concierge cannot pre-reserve you Vibe passes, you can request them thru the pre-cruise concierge. They are not actually reserved or purchased until you are on board, and you can do this right at the Concierge Desk in the Haven. They are not guaranteed. Rare lfreda Posted July 19, 2014 #52 Share Posted July 19, 2014 I asked for and received an email confiming that Adrian, the onboard concierge, would have me setup with a week long pass for Vibe. I originally requested a cabana and was told that they were already sold out.
Bill_R Posted July 19, 2014 #53 Share Posted July 19, 2014 Just off the Breakaway on the July 6th sailing. The Vibe was wonderful. On sea days imagine 4000 plus passengers ascending to the open decks to find a space to sit. You place your room key into the Vibe entrance and the doors open and its oasis away from all the madness. So to my wife and I, it was well worth the 79 dollars and all the rushing to obtain these passes. Just some observations. There are a lot of postings about the Vibe access pass so try searching this topic. I was told there are only 40 weekly passes sold. Yes you have to be near the top of the boarding pass group to get onboard and obtain these passes. We received boarding pass group 7 and obtained vibe pass numbers 37 and 38. I did notice that casino guests and Haven guest do obtain earlier boarding passes within groups 1-6. We arrived at the pier at 9:00 am and were one of the first 40 guest and still received boarding pass number 7. On our trip I believe that all of the 5 cabanas had been purchased by Haven guests so they were sold out prior to our arrival. I had the pleasure of talking to one of these cabana “owners” and they were with a group of 18 and it seemed all of them had access to the vibe. So I believe some leeway is given to the number of people allowed in this area. There was never a problem in getting a spot to lay out. I think as people become more educated on the Vibe “process” it will become harder and harder to obtain this prized entrance. Did I think it was worth it – absolutely. My wife and I said the same thing if we had not obtained these passes it would have been a great letdown on the overall cruise experience. Having obtained the passes and spent the week in the Vibe area, I don’t know if I could survive without it.
markf Posted July 19, 2014 #54 Share Posted July 19, 2014 I see no reason why you would use the Vibe are if you are a Haven guest. You have your own private sun deck etc..Or am I missing something?
Lmoore31 Posted July 19, 2014 #55 Share Posted July 19, 2014 Is Vibe open for sail away and is this a good place to be for sail away? I'm hoping to get a cabana but we are going mid- October so it will probably be cold for sail away but want to try.... Bill_R Posted July 19, 2014 #56 Share Posted July 19, 2014 There were several groups that we encountered in Vibe and several of them who we're staying in Haven rooms had other members in their groups staying in non Haven rooms. The vibe allowed a common meeting area for them with less crowds. The vibe was open on sail away days but your view will be somewhat obstructed by the higher walls surrounding the area. Right above the vibe area is a small deck area that will provide a 360 view when leaving NYC. We also used this area on fireworks night.
