Thanks mucho! We bought Cafe Britt and it was excellent. There was an "onboard only" offer of 20 bags of coffee and/or snacks (mix and match) for $99.00 which included DHL shipping. No lugging it home and we did not match the pricing on shore. Check them on the web at www.cafebritt.com. Highly recommended.

Phyljim Posted August 11, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 11, 2005 Will have to echo Mike's endorsement of the on board Cafe Britt offer. We ordered the $99 package shipped home, gave a lot away as gifts. Sadly, this morning we opened our last bag..it is wonderful coffee. Wishing we had been selfish about our gifts, (no not really...) it is a good thing we are booked on another trip to the same area. Sure hope Celebrity has the same on board offers for Cafe Britt coffee. It sure can spoil you.
Kwenz Posted September 2, 2005 #6 Share Posted September 2, 2005 You can order directly from Cafe Britt for just slightly more than the ship price. It'll arrive at your door in less than a week.
ChattTenn Posted September 11, 2005 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2005 Coffee drinker here - and cruising the Panama Canal stopping in Colombia in July/August Any great tips on where to buy some excellent coffee and what costs should I expect? Thanks mucho! Costa Rica has Arabica Coffee (same as Hawaii Kona Coffee and Jamaica Blue Mountain). It is a strong and very GOOD coffee and cheaper than Kona and Blue Mountain coffee. Like others said Cafe Britt is very good. If you take any private tour then ask the tour guide to take you to some local supermarket (there are several in Puerto Limon - prices are cheaper at these places then at the pier and coffee is fresher too). Our guide told us to get the 1820 brand coffee (100% Arabica bean coffee) which the local uses and cheaper. We found that it is as good as Cafe Britt. Costa Rica is a beautiful place. We had been there twice and would love to be back there soon. We also got some Panama coffee at the 99 grocery store in the Colon 2000 shopping complex. Panama coffee is also very good and cheaper than Costa Rica (good souvenirs). Happy Cruising.
ISABELLA Posted October 6, 2005 #8 Share Posted October 6, 2005 Britt coffee from CostaRica is the best. I have been buying it for 6 years. Will be going in November - hope they will be offering a better deal. Price went up recently. But still it worth it.
cruzisme Posted October 16, 2005 #9 Share Posted October 16, 2005 our private tour guide in Puntarenas took us to a local grocery store where we bought coffee (brand 1820 I think) Bought 3 bags for less than $10 American.
