Do you know anyone who bought a sub $200 P&S camera recently ? I don't know how profitable is $100 P&S camera, it would make more sense for camera company to sell a $49.99 wide angle conversion lens, a $59.99 tele attachment lens for iPhone, Samsung Galaxy.

With each new release of iPhone, Samung Galaxy/Note, consumer will have to buy a new set of these attachment lens.

This is low tech, high profit margin buiness, don't know why Nikon/Canon/Sony/Olympus do not make these.

There is no mention of anyone using a Bridge camera.

I have been looking at them and feel they would suit me, especially for any travelling. The favourite for 2012 seems to be the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150.

Their most recent model is considerably more expensive and would probably be of no advantage to me. It would be nice to hear how a user got on with one.

Beyond the oil of the D600 changing lenses with good discipline and risk of dust is a minscule inconvenience for the ability to change from 14-24 to say 70-200 focal lengths. I'll take that anytime over a one lense limited focal length with no dust risk.

Going from the old school Canon F-! system long ago ...I'm now using the quite capable Leica V-lux 3 ...

12.8Mp 1/2.3" CMOS Sensor

12.1Mp Effective Resolution

Tilting 3.0" LCD Monitor & EVF

Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 4.5-108mm Lens

24x Optical Zoom

1920 x 1080/60p HD Video Capture

Auto, 100-3200 ISO...

and a Panasonic DMC-TS5 (just out) for in water stuff...
