Cigars

Yes... Most of the newer Princess ships have a smoking lounge. From the Princess Cruise Answer Book:

Smoking is not allowed in the dining rooms, or any other food service area, or in the show lounges and theatres. Smoking is permitted in staterooms and designated areas. As a courtesy to your fellow passengers, please refrain from smoking pipes and cigars in all public rooms.

You are allowed to smoke cigars on your balcony, however doing so might cause some problems with your downwind neighbors.

You can smoke cigars indoors at only one specified location, for example Churchill's on Grand Princess. Outside, you're okay as long as stick to the proper areas, and of course you can use your balcony if you have one.

Churchhill's is the place to smoke cigars on the CB. It's actually a pretty nice little cigar bar. They had some jazz playing in the background, and it usually wasn't very crowded. Not a big cigar selection for purchase, so if you like a nice cigar, I suggest you bring your own. The waiter actually suggested some flavored cigars to me. Gender hazard, I suppose.

Curious, anybody ever smuggle any Cubans home? And is there anywhere to find what brands Churchills does carry?

All the time...can't tell what brand cigar or where it's from without the bands;) .I don't get too worried though, generally I'm just bringing back less than a dozen at the most.Churchills selection is OK but overpriced and I'm worried about the rate of turnover on the ship.I don't like to smoke there either because I come out smelling like an ashtray.

I much prefer the open air back-of-the-ship for my 'gar smoking other than my balcony.

The thing about buying Cubans in the islands is that there's a lot of fakes out there. If you really want one, take a look at the shop's the cruiseship recommends. That way you're sure you know what you're getting.

Never thought to smoke at the aft of the Promenade. See you there in September!

I did think it was bizzare that there's no cigars or pipes allowed in casino. I guess that's Princess' loss though.

Can't remember what the selection was. I just remember not being impressed and thinking they were ripping people out. If this gives you any idea, those flavored cigars (vanilla, chocolate, rum) were going for about 7 bucks each, if I remember correctly.
