Drinking Age Limit - Maybe it's a silly idea but...

Recommended Posts

I was just reading a post and someone was asking if the drinking age was 18 or 21, the reply seems to be 21 and proof of ID may be needed. Well, we all have to show our ID before we even get on the ship, to me it would make sense to have a color code system, like red means under 18, yellow is over 18 but under 21 and green is over 21...for the sign and sail cards. Yes, I realize if a minor finds the card he could order drinks or get into the casino but, it seems like such a hassle for the 21- 25 age group (because they seem to get carded the most). What you guys think, is my idea silly or do you think it could work? And, don't flame me too badly, it's just a passing idea !! :D

The person's age is encoded on the Sail & Sign card. If they try to buy a drink it will come up as a "Minor" as soon as they swipe the card. That won't prevent someone ELSE from buying a drink for that person, but that's true anywhere not just on a ship.
