geovet Posted February 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2013 I have read that rcc has BBQ including ribs at coco. I wonder if they will have the same food for carnival. Also, I am booked for one of these cruises and found no excursions listed for the island. Again, it is ran by rcc so I wonder if you just have to wait until I get there. I hope some of the first people going there with carnival report back with their experience. Thanks

I could be wrong though, my wife says it happens.

arkjeweler Posted February 27, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2013 Coco Cay was absolutely one of the best days we've had in our 4 cruises. Beautiful beach, snorkeling, great food, hammocks, gift shops, and lots of iguanas under the tree area. Great place!
Lyncoya Posted February 27, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2013 The BBQ was so much better at Coco Cay thank HMC IMO. They had ribs and they were delish. The seagulls were RELENTLESS though.
bshow Posted February 27, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2013 Not positive about Coco Cay, but at Half Moon Cay the food and drink are brought ashore from the ship.
marshhawk Posted February 27, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 27, 2013 I read that Carnival will post the excursions later this week. As far as food, ribs would be nice, but if you are doing a 5 day, they usually have ribs on the second sea day in the MDR.

Loyal2RCCL Posted February 27, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 27, 2013 RCCL uses food brought off the ship at CoCo Cay, so unless CCL usually serves ribs at HMC, then you won't have them at CoCo Cay. RCCL's buffet usually has ribs, chicken, burgers and hot dogs, mac & cheese, a variety of salads and desserts. If you reserve one of the private cabanas, your menu is upgraded to include grilled to order steaks, chicken, fish, shrimp and lobster tails. But again, this is all provided from the ship. hannibal54 Posted February 27, 2013 #10 Share Posted February 27, 2013 The people on Coco Cay or as CCL is calling it Little Stirrup Cay, do not cook any food for the passengers. It all comes from the ship.

It all comes from the ship. Not exactly true. While the food comes from the ship it is actually cooked on the island. There are large grills set up in the dining areas and the burgers, chicken etc are cooked right there. The ribs however are precooked onboard and finished on the islands grills. lcp9984 Posted February 28, 2013 #12 Share Posted February 28, 2013 geovet : Same here. Did not have excursions listed for CoCo Cay. Spoke to Carnival rep last night and it seems to be a "glitch" in the system. They are correcting and suppose to get back to me today via phone call.
