Cruising Sydney - Perth / Perth - Sydney

Hi all

 

I'm taking a cruise from Sydney to Perth "over the top" later this year and will take the opportunity to visit 2 sons and 5 grandchildren.

 

My question is this: Is the southern trip via the Great Australian Bight a "bumpier" trip or does the time of year make a difference.

 

I see where there are some cruises via the southern route in Feb-Mar but would much prefer to cruise in October.

It's the luck of the draw. We crossed the Bight over 3 sea days in late Dec last year and it was calm all the way. It does have a reputation though and I'm sure some people have horror stories so pack your seasick meds and hope for the best!
