If flying from NY what airport do I fly into for a cruise from Galveston? How far from airport to port?

Hobby is about 45 min from Galveston

IAH is about 1hr 15-1hr 40min

Depends on which airline you are on. Southwest would be Hobby and just about eveybody else is IAH. (American and Delta have a few rj's into Hobby but most of their flight are in to the big airport)

are there not any flights to and from the Galveston airport? It is supposed to be an international one but I cannot find anything? help please. this is ridiculous that the crusie leaves from a place with no airline access.

The airport in Galveston is for private planes only.

Galveston is an island, 50 miles from Houston, so not ridiculous to not have an airport when there are 2 airports - 40 miles and 70 miles from the island.

What is supposed to be "an international one", the airport? Ha! Not quite.

 

Unless you have your own small plane, you're not landing at the Galveston airport. The ships that leave from Galveston get a majority of their travelers from Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, all well within driving distance.

 

Fly to Hobby or Houston Intercontinental and catch a shuttle.
