Ocean Boy Posted April 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2004 From what I have read in brochures Mountain Top seems like a good place to go see. Can anyone who has been there tell me what is there and if it is worth taking the time to go there? Thanks
richtersl Posted April 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2004 There are shops, a bar, and a little restaurant up there. The view from the veranda is spectacular! I haven't eaten there, but have enjoyed a Bahama Mama and a Banana Daquiri. I wouldn't plan on spending the day there, but and hour or two should suffice, depending on how much shopping, drinking, and/or eating you plan on doing. kitty1 Posted May 14, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2004 I wouldn't go there on my own.... We took Godfrey's Tour and that's one of the places that he takes you to. We only spend about 15-20mins there. You get a great view of Megan's Bay from up there. The banana daiquiris are good, but they are strong. katrain Posted May 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2004 It's a must stop on the island... No other view quite like it anywhere (from my eyes at least). Enjoy your trip... KaTrain
bob&karen Posted May 16, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2004 We second the vote for doing Mountain Top as part of the Godfrey tour. GREAT view, and the banana daquiris are most excellent. There are pix in the link below our signature, below. NorfolkSailor Posted May 17, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2004 As noted elsewhere in replies to this psot, Moutaintop is a must-see if you've never been to St. Thomas! You won't spend too much time there but you WILL have one of the best views in the carribean (and the drinks are good, if you're so inclined - and after a few you will be LOL). The thing is - there's not much to keep you up there after the drinks and the view. There are shops of the usual sort - liquor, cigarettes, t-shirts, etc.. but they aren't any different that elsewhere so why carry stuff from there when you can get it near the ship? Go - see - then plan to move on as the town and the beaches hold much to offer - assuming you don't head over to St. Johns - another wonderful island with lots of lush scenery...
