Riviera May 5 Jazz Festival

We are all set to go on this trip from Venice, and the jazz feature really sealed the deal for me, although my wife is not quite as much into it as I am. There are plenty of other great sounding programs, so she will be just as happy.

My question is this. Has anyone been on this theme cruise previously, if there was one offered in past years, and if so, we're there "name" individuals or groups invited to perform? Obviously not big names, but with jazz backgrounds with interesting histories and bios.

Here's a link to the performers. I am not aware that Oceania has done this before. We booked long before it was announced to be a jazz cruise but it is a nice bonus. I wonder why this cruise is not filling up - nearly every category is still available.

I would suggest to the OP to google these performers & try to get a video to get an idea if you would like the shows.

My husband is a jazz sax player and based on these performers credentials from the link it sounds like great fun. It would be something we would love but we have our bucket list trip into Venice in October 2013 and a carib in April 2014 or we might join you if we had the pennies.

Probably because it still is early for cruising the Med for many. We cruised at this time of year in 2010 and it simply was too cool and rainy for us to repeat the experience.

Thanks for the info and links.

A nice break from the usual music routines, but not so far outside the box it shuts people down.

Although I like the contemporary stuff, a good Dixieland group on the sail away would be great.
