Ingredients in Hand Sanitizer?

Go to youtube and enter "washy washy happy happy" and it will bring up numerous videos. In those videos (I watched 4 of them) you can see people walking right past the washy washy person and not a thing was said. Most people accepted the spritz, but a few did not. It did not appear that anyone was forced to take it, or even questioned about not taking it.

I have been told on several occasions I could not enter the buffet unless I took some sanitizer. I usually just chuckle and continue in. A couple times the washy washy girl actually followed me and kept insisting I must be sanitized or leave. I kept going and she eventually stopped following me. To be clear, the ship was not on 'red alert' any of my cruises.

I work in a hospital so hand sanitiser is a part of my every day. What the ships do not tell you is that after every application, without washing with soap and water, it becomes less affective. The other point is that as it is alcohol based, usually, it can break down your skin and allow bacteria to enter the body so you need to moisturise as well. If you put the sanitiser on and it stings you are at risk.

I always laugh when I see people who apply it thick as or take 2 or 3 squirts thinking more is safer.

On our last cruise when reboarding at a port, I was told I could not enter until I was "spritzed". I explained that my DH (who is handicapped) has bad reactions to the "spritz" and I had a bottle of Purell in my hands and was putting it on his hands and mine. They *still* spritzed me and it got on DH.

It wasn't fun dealing with his asthma attack.

Normally, I just show my own Purell and use it in front of them and it's OK. The guy spritzing must have been having a cranky day that day to be rude about it.
