Was on a cruise with Regis and his wife while they were on vacation. Even got in the elevator with him once. Of coarse they "forced" him into doing a stage appearance probably in exchange for his free cruise in the Penthouse. Also was on one with Johnny Winter the rock and roll guitarist. He stood out but many didn't know who he was.

I was on the QEII - my first cruise - in 1990 - the 150th anniversary of the Cunard line - and the Smothers Brothers were on board with their wives - they did 2 shows one night of the cruise and I've always loved their comedy. They both did aerobics classes in the gym and were very friendly and approachable. Terence Stamp was also on board and we saw him a few times - Tony Randall, too - he was very nice and did a good stand-up routine one evening. Went on the QEII again 2 summers ago and David Bowie and John Cleese had been on board the previous week - just missed them. It's fun to have the entertainers on board, especially a transatlantic trip - there's no place for them to go - they have to mix with the passengers.

I met Alexus Argeio (sp?) the boxer, Sam Jones - basketball player, Steve Mizarak (sp?) billards star on my 1st cruise back in 1987 on NCL Southward. The cruise starred the guys in the Miller Lite commercials. Also met Edith (archie bunkers wife on all in the family) at the airport. She was really nice and had really skinny ankles. Flew once on a red eye with Willie Mays. Didn't ask for his autograph or talk to him because another passenger did and he was mad and wanted to be left alone. Got to respect his privacy and that is why he probably took the red eye because there were only about 15 of us on the entire plane (727). Anyway would love to hear others encounters!:)

We spent the better part of an evening with the Delphonics on the Destiny in October. They are great guys who play some great music!!! We had pictures taken and they are in my signature link below. Some of you may recognize them from the 70's or so....Smokey Robinson was said to have been on our cruise, but we didn't get the opportunity to mingle with him.

We met football player Drew Bledsoe on a Princess cruise in Feb 2002. Just after the Patriots won the superbowl. My husband played craps with him in the Casino a few times.

We have also met Charo on RCCL. She was the featured performer, but would mix and mingle after her shows. Boy, did dhe look fabulous and can she ever play a mean guitar!

Happy cruising, Kathy

We were on the Celebration in 2000. My son, Jay, who was 11, was enjoying activities in Camp Carnival and was told that Rowdy Gaines, the winner of 3 gold medals and two world records in swimming at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games, was on board with his family. He volunteered to meet with the children, sign autographs, and show his gold medals. Being a swimmer himself, my son was really excited. Rowdy was wonderful! He signed pictures of himself, posed for pictures with the kids, and even let my son hold his gold medal. He talked to Jay about what events he liked to swim. He also told him not to quit. He said when he was 11, he quit for a while then went back. Jay has stuck with it and this year qualified to go the the state meet as a freshman in high school. Meeting Rowdy was such a wonderful unexpected event! You just never know what may happen on a Carnival cruise.

We were on the Nordic Empress in 97 with our kids who were then 6 and 7 and there was a guy working as a counselor in the kids camp who had been on "Saved by the Bell". I have no idea what his name is, but I think his characters name was Screech, or something like that. I just know he wasn't the guy who ended up on NYPD Blue. My kids knew instantly who he was.

My mom met Bob Dickinson on her Legend's New Years Cruise this past year.

Haven't met anyone famous cruising but I literally "ran" into Mike Tyson two years ago in the Bellagio coming off the elevator. Glad to escape that one with both my ears.
