The Islander Posted May 1, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2004 Why not visit the beach guide at http://www.vinow.com/stthomas/beaches_stt/ it has pictures and descriptions, then you can narrow it down to the ones you like best. --Islander For more information on the Virgin Islands visit http://www.VInow.com the best guide to St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John and Water Island. Jerry Myers Posted May 5, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Make sure you check out Megans Bay in St Thomas but there are several that combine scenery and snorkeling from the beach
BUCKET 1 Posted May 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2004 I was not impressed with Megans Bay at all. I had been told that it was so gorgeous and not to miss it. I would rate it very low compared to other beaches on the Caribbean.
kfrank6302 Posted May 6, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2004 We quit going to Magens years ago when it got too crowded and dirty. I understand it's cleaned up a lot, but we prefer Sapphire Beach.
LanaLB Posted May 6, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 6, 2004 The best beach for swimming and snorkeling, in my opinion, is Trunk Bay on St. John. We've been all over the Caribbean and it was the best we ever went to. It takes a while to get to ( taxi to the ferry, ferry to St John, taxi to Trunk Bay) but it's worth it. Just give yourself enough time. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to go each way.
katrain Posted May 7, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2004 Coki Point Beach is to me the best beach on the island it is nice and quiet and pictue perfect. Also after taking a dip it's a short distance to Coral World...
welenja Posted May 10, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 10, 2004 We were at Coki Beach for snorkeling and thought it was perfect. It is a smaller beach, but very clear and not crowded. There were bathroom facilities. Was picturesque as is all of St. Thomas. Short walk to waverunner rentals. They are around the corner from Coki Beach and are not allowed in the beach area.
