The latest is it is not going to start till May..

from their website:

COMING SOON!

As a Crown and Anchor® Society member, you are entitled to special onboard offers via the exclusive Ultimate Value Booklets, making cruising with Royal Caribbean even more rewarding.

Beginning in May, we will substitute the paper booklets with electronic offers loaded right into your SeaPass® card. Delivering a paperless solution allows us to reduce waste and continue focusing on environmentally sound operations.

It's also nice not to have a booklet to lug around or lose. Experience the ease and convenience when you sail this spring!

putting the coupons on your seapass. I was wondering how it is working, love the idea that you don't have to carry the paper with you?

The info that Kathy gave you is currently on the RCI website under C&A Member's Benefits. You must sign in to see it.

This was sent to TA's last week http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/CAS/Flyers/13032502_CAS_Ultimate_Value_Booklets_flyer.pdf

I wonder how this will work with two people per cabin. For example, I am a C&A member but my BF is not. Our SeaPass cards will be tied to the same credit card account. Can he use my coupons?

I am guessing not...

If you have, say, a free specialty coffee coupon and you're not going to use it but he wants it, you'll likely have to charge the coffee for him on your card...Same credit card so it won't really matter to you...

For me, I love this idea--assuming they get it to work correctly...

I don't like dealing with sorting my coupons, ripping out the ones I want and remembering to bring them with and use them...

But, yes, it may require additional thought for some...Last RCCL cruise for us, we had our daughters along in another cabin...All four of us Diamond C&A...So, we had LOTS of coupons...Many, we just gave ours to the girls...now we'll have to remember they are loaded on to each individual card...

I suspect not, unless he used your card. The "benefits" would be tied in the system to the unique card not the account backing up the SeaPasses. To use electronic coupon he would need to have you use it for him.

My curiosity is how they will handle this system in the casino for match play. We like the match on roulette since (barring 0-00 coming up) it is almost a sure $5 profit when wife and I play opposite on even money bet. Scanning cards would slow play - an anathema to any casino operator. This change could spell the end of that particular "coupon".

No one knows (I'm sure including Royal) all the intricacies of how this will work until it's put in practice in May. I would not be surprised if they had it all ready to go this month, read some of the questions here on CC, and started scratching their heads thinking "Wow, we didn't think go that...".

That will be the frustrating part for us. My husband and I are both Platinum, and we'll usually switch coupons around some - he'll get my BOGO, I'll get his spa, etc.

We'll have to always be together if we want to continue that.

No, he'll get the kids coupon book with the air brush tatoos, etc. Not that he should be getting the bogo wine, but they really need to come up with something else for the teens. My son tosses the book right away, nothing of interest in it for him.

On the other side of that (kind of where you were going I think), however, he will be 18 after this cruise. So, on the next cruise he should get the regular "book", but won't be able to purchase alcohol. Will they let him use it to buy a drink for mom or dad???
