Best CAS point explanation I've ever gotten

We are just back from the Star and I called CAS to check on our point level and whether we would qualify for discounts, etc in the future.

I got the friendliest gentleman who gave me information no one ever had before.

First, the points on your card has nothing to do with future cruise comps, only on board cash back or drink card.

Secondly, the comp points/level/whatever are not available to you, other than by calling CAS.

No wonder people come home with X number of points and are disappointed because they don't qualify for anything in the future.

We are not huge gamblers but was glad to learn that we qualify for a decent discount next time. Woohoo!

Maybe all you knew this, but maybe it was helpful to someone.

Thanks for the info - but I am confused......as in how do they determine what to "give" you on your next booking if not by using the points?

As members of ALL of the casino clubs.....we usually just go with whatever cruise line fits our schedule but DO then "grumble" about how few perks we were offered! But it would be nice to know what all of these people are truly going by in order to determine what to offer customers on their next booking...
