durtydancers Posted June 20, 2005 #27 Share Posted June 20, 2005 So, this is where everybody went off too. Have to say, being our first cruise we had no point of reference, but it seems there was a lot of good, and some not so good. We didn't have the sewage smell in our cabin, but that toilet thing might explain the strange residue we found near the floor drain after returning from Costa Maya. We did notice the smell every so often, especially near the aft. We were totally lazy and didn't book any shore excursions, just laid around a lot of places - we were saving our energy (and souvenir money) for Key West. Well, at least HMC, Georgetown and Costa Maya have a lot of cool places to lie in the sun and drink. Still hard to believe Zui has only been sailing for what, two years? Noticed lots of broken windows (Ocean bar, Lido entrance, etc.) and lots of wear and tear - is that common? Dining room food was good and service was great, Pinnacle Grill was great all the way around. Lido - not so great. And, maybe we were just to slow at HMC, but the hockey puck burgers didn't have us lining up for seconds. Had a hard time, it seemed, finding someplace to dance after dinner. The disco turns into the crew's after shift pick-up bar, and the Crow's Nest seemed to attract a lot of teenagers coming out of the Wave Runner. Ooohhh, and don't miss Rhonda's version of "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" in the piano lounge. It's a memory you'll keep long after you gain back your land legs. Oh, and Kim, we stayed at the Embassy Suites post-cruise as well - had to love those every-15-minute fire drills in the middle of the night, eh? jc
