Helen Posted May 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2004 Need to decide on our snorkeling excursion in June and would love some advice! I have heard so much about both that I'm having trouble deciding.Would enjoy hearing from those who have experienced the two. We are a family of 4 with 2 sons, ages 14 and 19. Thanks so much. geejaymel Posted May 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2004 We were on the Winifred and highly recommend it. Tommy, the first mate, is a fun guy with lots of energy who snorkels with you and I am sure that your boys would enjoy him. It is a great day. We liked it so much that we are already booked again for December. They all book up early, so decide and book or you'll be disappointed! And have a great cruise. LisaB19 Posted May 17, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 17, 2004 We were also on the Winifred, and had an incredible time! We have booked it again for our cruise next year. Sharon and Tommy are the best! PennyQueen Posted May 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 18, 2004 We were on a cruise in March and spent our day in St. Thomas with High Pocket. It was the best day of our whole cruise! Kathleen does a great job of making you comfortable and plans the day to what you want to do. My husband dives and this was my first experience snorkeling, that shows you how diverse our group was! We both had a great time and the food and drink are wonderful. The other couple that went with us had a 13 year-old son who quickly became a great second mate on the boat. Whatever you decide, have a great trip!
Starz723 Posted May 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2004 I have a question for those of you that sailed the Winifred. Can you stop at different snorkel locations or do you go to just one? Will Sharon take you to waterlemon key if you request it. Or does she take you where she wants to sail. Thank you MY VERY FIRST CRUISE EVER!! On The Legend! E. LisaB19 Posted May 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 19, 2004 We stopped at one site, and that was of Sharon's choosing. Of course, none of us knew any better of where to go! I'm sure if you email her, she would let you know whether she would go to the beach that you want to. Lisa Days until we sail the Brilliance again on 3/7/05! Helen Posted May 20, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted May 20, 2004 Thanks for the great input We decided to book with high pockets after Kathleen quick response by email and wonderful conversation over the phone. I'm sure both are equal in value and know we'll have a great time. Just can't wait for a day in the sun with nothing to do but snorkel and relax! VPIcruiser Posted May 23, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 23, 2004 Hello. The website for Highpockets is http://www.sailhighpockets.com In April, we had a wonderful day with Kathleen and her husband (who doesn't usually sail with her). We did two snorkeling stops right off the coast of St. John. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed ourselves. Renee
