Irons

I have heard that irons are not allowed on the ship. Do they have them on board, or do you go without one for the week. I'm not a maniac (and actually do not enjoy to do it) but I would like to be pressed a bit for dinner - especially the formal nights.

How does this work?

Thank you in advance....

What ship are you sailing? Some ships do have laundry rooms onboard that have irons that you can use.

A good trick is to hang your clothes on the bathroom door and turn the shower on hot until the bathroom gets steamy. The hanging and steam combination do wonders in getting rid of wrinkles.

Downy wrinkle release also works.

I also fold my clothes carefully and use dry cleaning bags for the things that I don't want to be wrinkled (like formal clothes) and hang them up as soon as I can. Those clothes have never been wrinkled when it came

time to actually wear them later on during the cruise.

We are on RCC Jewel of the Seas

Then you are out of luck because RCI does not have self-service laundry rooms on any of their ships. However, they do provide laundry and ironing service (for a price). Keep in mind that everyone on your cruise is in exactly the same situation. Many travelers have learned various packing (and selection of clothes) tricks to minimize wrinkling. In the future you might want to consider cruising with Princess where laundramats (with irons) are the standard.

Unfortunately, this method only works for clothing. Not so effective on a human.:D

Just checked RCCL's prohibited items list and they do not mention steamers. I have a small steamer (weighs about 1 pound) which uses tap water. Took it on my last cruise and it worked perfectly to get out pesky wrinkles.
