Parking @ Maui & Kauai Ports?

My husband and I will be going on "The Pride of America" July 30-Aug 6 Cruise.

We will be overnight on the island of Maui and Kauai. If we rent a car for 2 days will they let us park the car at the port overnight....Who knows...

On Kauai, I don't know of any parking at the pier, but the airport is only about a 15 minute ride. You may be able to park overnite in the rental car company's lot. Most will provide a shuttle to/from the pier. On Maui, I understand in Kahului there is a shopping mall near the pier, or the airport is only a few minutes away and you may be able to park at the rental company's lot. If you're going to Lahaina, then there are public lots in Lahaina, but about $20 for overnite parking. The Maui Revealed book has a good map of Lahaina showing the parking available.

We just got back from the Pride of Aloha. There were designated parking areas near the ship in each port. We used them at both Kauai and Maui. They are NOT secure lots, but we did not hear of anyone having a problem.

Just back from the 5/29 POA.

 

There's no charge for parking at the pier in Kahului, Maui. There's only a small lot directly across from the pier, but cars were parked anywhere and everywhere else that they could find a spot. The rental car shuttle driver did tell us not to block people in or park in driveways because we would be towed.

 

There's not free parking at Nawiliwili, Kauai anymore. One of the shopping malls across the street charged $10 to park overnight.
