We are considering getting the AMEX Platinum card partly for the cruise benefits and partly for the 2 for 1 annual business class ticket. Has anyone ever successfully gotten a two for one business class ticket through AMEX Platinum to Papeete?

We are considering getting the AMEX Platinum card partly for the cruise benefits and partly for the 2 for 1 annual business class ticket. Has anyone ever successfully gotten a two for one business class ticket through AMEX Platinum to Papeete?

 

We looked into using the international companion offer, but there was no availability on the dates we needed. There were business class seats available, just not for this promotion. Unless you are booking fairly far in advance, it might not be available. Additionally, Air Tahiti Nui is not an airline partner with American Express, so it could only be on Air France. That said, I still love this card and feel the annual fee is offset just with everything you would get on your PG cruise:

Plus, you can use these platinum benefits on your trip:

• Lounge access at LAX and PPT (and probably wherever you originate)

• No foreign transaction fees
  

 

That's just for your cruise. There is a whole slew of other benefits not directly related to a PG cruise.

We have really used it a lot. It's worth it for the priority lounges and more than make up your payment if you do two luxury cruises.

Used to have Platinum - got a nice credit on the PG 3 years ago however these days not worth the $475 a year to me plus the extra $$$ for the additional card. The 2 for 1 biz class ticket was a joke - you have to pay FULL FARE - its crazy money for the first ticket.
