Hi Peter,

My grandparents worked for the Cunard line in the early 1900s. My grandfather was an engineer and my grandmother worked in housekeeping. They were from Glasgow. They married and settled in the U.S. and had 5 children, but unfortunately he got pneumonia and died at age 45.

I'd love to do some research on their working years and know it's a long shot, but would Cunard have any records from this early period that would list them and what they did. Who can I contact for this info?

I would love to sail sometime on Cunard as a remembrance of them!

Thank you for any suggestions.
Claire

Peter Shanks was here on February 18th - one month before your question - and has not returned. He might see your post if you go to one of Cunard's social media sites.

Since your grandparent's employment records go back so far you might instead start by contacting a maritime historian. He/she might know which archive or library may have received any of Cunard's early records. Remember that Cunard had physical offices in several cities in several countries back then.
