help outside baltimore

we are driving from ohio to baltimore for our grandeur cruise can someone tell me a town about an hour or two outside of baltimore so we can make a hotel reservation. thanks we have never driven there before.:D

Frederick Maryland is about 50 miles from the cruise port. It's right on I-70.

 

The rush hour traffic will be clear after 9am. If it were me, I'd leave around around 9:30 and get to the port around 10:30.

Frederick is a great choice. There are quite a few motels quite close to I-70. I-270 also connects with I-70 and gives you a lot more choices of motels and restaurants within a 2-3 mile radius.
