Love your review and style. I get my cruise fix and some giggles at the same time. I'll come back tomorrow to read some more.... I hear my bed calling my name.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I didn't know people were still reading this, lol.:)

Just had to comment after reading your review.

You made me laugh, you made me think, you entertained the heck out of me.

I wish you would write a TV show so that I could watch it!

Thank you:)

Okay I am discovering that writing this review is becoming addictive. I am supposed to be putting my daughter to sleep but now that I've figured out how to post the pictures (thanks Calamity Jane) I CAN'T STOP. So, if one of these posts has a whole bunch of letters or numbers in some wierd, unidentifiable order, its just my daughter's contribution to this review. At the moment she is sitting on my lap banging on the keys. Its just a matter of time before she clicks "enter" and posts some of her gibberish.

Here is a picture of Downtown Miami before we sailed.

Did you take the little human with you on your cruise????

I’m sorry to have to say this and it goes against every principal in my body but our waiters were like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. One guy, whose shall remain nameless – NOT!! – ANTHONY FROM KINGSTON, JAMAICA!!!!! was really moody for the first few days. One minute he was smiling, the next he was frowning…I don’t know if he had gas or what. At any rate, his assistant, I Kopenga, (sp?) was AWESOME and very consistent. He mostly just took our orders and brought our dessert so we didn’t have a whole lot of experience with him but he was very friendly, had a pleasant disposition, and even remembered us when we dined at other restaurants on the ship. Anyway, back to Anthony. So we were this ______ close to asking the maitre d to reseat us but considering the fact that we may have had to become separated from our new BFF’s (and potentially forfeit free legal counsel for the rest of our natural lives) we decided to stick it out. Around the 3rd night, we decided to force Anthony to get over himself and after a few attempts at asking him about his family and where he was from, he magically became the best waiter of all-time of a sudden and we had stellar service from him the rest of the cruise. See, you really do get more flies with honey. I guess everybody is entitled to a bad day and maybe that was the case for him. But seriously, he really redeemed himself by night three and all was well after that. Let’s see, what’s next? Oh yes, the FOOD PORN. Sorry to get your hopes up but I really didn’t spend a lot of time taking pictures of food. I was too busy eating it. I will, however, attempt to describe to you what I thought was the best and the worst.

Here goes. On a scale of 1-10:

MDR: 8.5

Guy’s: 10

Cantina: 6

LIDO (Buffet): 7.5

Cucina del Capitano: 9

Pizza Place: 6.5

Bonsai Sushi: 0 (okay, I didn’t try any because I think its gross but this is my review so I can put whatever number I want so nanny nanny boo boo!!)

Red Frog Pub: 8

Fahrenheit 555: Missed it but heard it was very good.

Room Service: For what they had, I’ll give them a 6.5

Comedy Brunch: 9.5 Oh, wait, I do have a picture of the breakfast. Stand by…

Loved that you put Anthony's name on "blast". Good for you. I know that the staff/crew gets tired and takes a lot of crap from everyone, but they should at least attempt to be personable, right?

So our plans for day two mostly consisted of a lot of rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation (or the three R's as CCer Calamity Jane would say). I woke up pretty early and although at first Hubby was acting like it was the first day of school and he wanted to sleep in, he suddenly remembered that we were ON VACATION and put it in first gear.

READY TO GET THE DAY STARTED!!

HUBBY: WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR BREAKFAST?

ME: I HAVE AN IDEA.

HUBBY: LEAD THE WAY.

BREAKFAST:

Okay...are you cruising next year???? If so, please cruise on the Carnival Sunshine (3/30) because it seems to me that you are just having so much fun. I would LOVE to be on the same ship with you and your hubby.

Child, please!! Me? Up on the bar? Shaking what my momma gave me...? Hmmph. Actually, it does sound like fun...no, but my hubby would have KILLED me. Like seriously. I don't think he's a killer, but I don't push him, lol.

Between you and GAPearl, I'm at work trying hard not to laugh. Talk about the two perfect cruising partners...I'm quite a bit older than both of you girls, but I tell you what...I can hang!!!! I wanna party with you two.

Why thank you so much for the kind words. You do know that we are both named KIMBERLY right. Perhaps Kimberly=fun/party/great sense of humor. I don't know...I could be on to something. ;)

You would think so. I get that everybody has bad days but it should never be to the degree that you are just outright rude. And to his credit, his little tude did get better over the course of the cruise.

Thanks so much for the review, very entertaining reading! Just booked this itinerary for November, so your review was very helpful re: Ocho Rios. Sorry that you missed Grand Turk - that is my favorite do-nothing port. I like to get off the ship early and hit the Margaritaville pool before it gets crowded, then move to a lounger on the beach.

I agree with you that the Breeze is a great ship. Did you try the hot dog stand on the sports deck? They were delish!

My list of "must do"s for the November trip include the Punchliner's brunch (gonna get the steak this time!), the Thrill theater and mini golf...

Hello fellow cruisers! So this will be my first ever review on CC so please bear with me. I know there are so real pros out there who have set the bar super high when it comes to cruise reviews so I will attempt to do my best even though I have no idea what I’m doing. Again, this is my first time. So please…be gentle.

Okay, so first things first. Introductions. In order to protect the innocent, I’ll call myself “K”, like Tommy Lee Jones’ character in Men in Black. I’m from a suburb of Houston, TX called Richmond. I’m 36 years old, went to LSU, and am a Green Bay Packers Fan. My husband, we’ll call him “D”, is 31 years old, born and raised in Austin, went to the University of Houston, and is a Dallas Cowgirls fan. Please, don’t hold this against me. If I’d of known this before we got married…I’m just serious.

Here's a picture of us:

Anyhow, we have 1 child, a daughter, who we’ll call the little human. She’s 18 months and our precious little miracle. She didn’t go on this cruise with us cause momma was only willing to deal with one kid on this vacation. That just went over some of yall’s heads. Don’t worry. It will click later. Here's a picture of the little human:

Moving on:

After many days of searching, researching, becoming exasperated, giving up, searching again, bugging the hell out of our PVP, negotiating with my husband about how much I would be willing to “give him” in exchange for him giving up going to the State Boys’ Basketball Tourney to go on a cruise instead, and finally just flat out lying to him about how much the cruise would really cost us (no, seriously, lol) we finally booked!!!! This would be only our second cruise together (first was our of San Juan, Puerto Rico on the Victory for our honeymoon. Best. Cruise. Ever.) but our 5th for each of us.

We chose the 6 day cruise out of MIAMI, FL on the fabulous NEW CARNIVAL BREEZE from March 10th to March 16th. Our scheduled itinerary would include Grand Turk, Ocho Rios, & Nassau. We were really excited and even though we knew the drive (18+ hours) would be a beast, we really couldn’t justify spending more on airline tickets for what we paid for the both of us to cruise. SO…we sucked it up and decided to make the drive.

We hit the road at 3:45pm sharp on Friday afternoon as we had decided to stay a night in Miami before we set sail on Sunday. We arrived at about 1:30 on Saturday afternoon after a pretty uneventful drive through the states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and then from one end of Florida to the other. I can definitely say, however, that I will never, ever be driving on the Florida Turnpike again. Humph. Waste of time and money. But I digress.

I just started your review and I can tell already that it will be helpful. Tip 1: We aren't driving from Houston to MIA.

Thanks for this review! I'm late finding it, but I enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to Breeze in April. "Eat the cake, Anna Mae!" LOL

Shiznigity! I got all excited when I thought we were on the same upcoming Breeze cruise and then I realized you are on the 3/15/14 and I am on the 2/15/14. Darn! I really enjoyed your review - fun to read and informative! Thank you for taking the time to do it. It's a real time investment to write one. You are like the Christmas cook for the family dinner and we are the hungry family members. You slave over the meal and we devour it so quickly!

Would you happen to know if Butch will be the cruise director in February, this year? I have heard such good things about him!

I wish you, and your husband, loads of happy future cruises, Kimberly!

Love me some Butch! He's actually been working on his Masters online while doing the job of cruise director. He just got off the ship because CCL wanted him involved in some special project. Then he is going on vacation and he will receive his Masters in April or May while he is off. He returns to the Breeze in June or July. Can't wait to sail with him in October.

Happy Cruising,

Laura

I love Butch too! He sent me some chocolate covered strawberries :-) on our Christmas cruise. I am hoping he is still on the Breeze in December 2014

Why thank you so much for your kind words! I hope you enjoyed your meal...err...the review. ;)

Somewhere on this forum is a list of what cruise directors will be on which ships and when. Butch is like the best EVER!!!!!!!!! and so at some point I did see that he was going to be on our cruise in a few weeks. However, it seems as though they rotate (I don't know if they switch ships or go on vacation or what) but they do take significant time off from duty. As a matter of fact if you search John Heald Cruise Director Ships or something similiar to that you should be able to find it.

Thanks again for reading. Hope you have a great time on your cruise!

Wait. What? You got chocolate covered Strawberries? And I got...nothing. Well, I NEVER!!!!!!!;) Just kidding. That was a really nice gesture. As much as I pump Butch up about him being the best CD ever I better be getting some chocolate covered something in my room in March. Oh, wait that sounded really dirty. Oh well, that works too!! LOLOLOL!! :D

My favorite line in your review was " eat the cake Anna Mae "! I could just see that picture in my head LOL. Tina & Ike. (I'm from Memphis)

We are heading to the Breeze in on Saturday. Unfortunately we won't have the same cruise director. There are mixed reviews on the one we will have. Let's just say ours isn't the life of the party.

We enjoy any cruise and if the cruise director is a really good one it just makes it even better. If he isn't, we still have fun.

You said your husband went to get contact information from some folks you met.

On the last cruise we were on, (different line) lots of folks on our roll call had what they referred to as "Cruise cards" I'd never had heard of that before. They were business type cards with their Cruise Critic name and contact info. So I got some made up from Staples or vista print for the next cruise. Easy way to get others info.

Many thanks for your review. And the next time one of those Islanders demand a tip.... you just bust out singing.... "I work hard for my money honey.... using your best Tina voice (even though it wasn't her song) and Ike can join in playing his pretend guitar).... the others passengers just might tip you! LOL:D
