Ponta Delgada Car Rental

Has anyone rented a car in Ponta Delgada? What was the cost, and did you experience any problems?

Major providers in PDL are Ilha Verde ilhaverde.com (has office near port), Atlantis autatlantis.com & Hertz hertz.pt. Cost will be slightly higher than mainland especially for short rental. Major roads are good quality. Sete Cidades Lakes & Lagoa do Fogo (Fire Lake) are not that far from center of PDL. I would recommend GPS or good direction if going to either one.
