Doubletree Condado or Hampton Inn Isla Verde

Which would you choose and how do you think they compare? We are looking for either a one or two night stay (depends on the crazy airfare!) prior to our cruise. I can get either a room with a king and a murphy bed at the Doubletree or a two double bed suite at the Hampton Inn for about the same price. There are 4 of us..me, my DH and our two teen daughters. Really like the idea of the extra space of the suite but what am I giving up by not staying at the Doubletree? The tripadvisor ratings for the Doubletree are better than they are for the Hampton Inn. Anyone out there who has stayed at both? How would you compare the Condado area to the Isla Verde area? We are looking for some beach/pool time but also plan on spending some time in Old San Jaun. Thanks for any help!!

Oct. 2012, Pre cruise we stayed at the Hampton Inn Isla Verde and it was very comfortable and very clean with great comfortable beds. ($140) Good Restaurants and a drugstore are within walking distance.
