Changes to Entertainment/Quest/L&M

Recommended Posts

Noticed a few differences in entertainment on our last cruise. Wondering if this is something specific to Independence, or a general change overall?

1. Entertainment crew had six singers instead of four in the opening show (Once Upon A Time) and the farewell show. DW thought the extra two singers may have also been dancers in the other shows, but we weren't sure.

2. The quest was hyped a lot more than usual. In addition, it was never billed as being "adults only". The actual event itself was different in the fact that there was less running around craziness, with instead a team captain going and retrieving the quest items from their team. Perhaps this has to do with the barriers in front of the audience in Studio B?

3. Love and Marriage was hillarious as always, but rather than have "auditions", they simply gave out tickets to those who were interested in playing and drew four (not three like before) couples. Saves time, I guess, but doesn't guarantee you get a broad age range.

On the large ships (generally the ones with the ice rink) the quest is held there and goes as you stated. Sections are broken into teams and each has a male and a female captain. With that many people on-board there really isn't another venue suitable to quest. This is true for pretty much all of the Voyager, Freedom and Oasis class ships.

The smaller ships, on the other hand, still do a traditional type of quest with the venue depending on the ship. Monarch it's usually in the Circuit Lounge (at least for a few more weeks ) and Radiance class in the Colony Club (or equivalent). For Vision class I usually see it held in the lounge at the stern of the ship.
