Does anyone know from personal experience? I'm SO hoping they do!

most of them do but make sure to talk to steward right away as they have to get someone from maintenance dept to come and do it and they only allow so many of them to be opened at any one time.

They probably do, but they have limited devices that hold them open. What you have to do is one person from each cabin has to go to guest services and request it. Go as soon as you get on. It probably won't be open until the next day though.

It's only the Spirit class that needs the devices to hold them open. They will not open the divider if it blocks the door. The cabins are laid out back to back. Window,door/divider/door, window/divider/window, door etc. The only ones they will open is the window/divider/window.

DB/SIL was in the cabin next to us. We had the window/divider/window set up. We both went down to Guest Services and requested it. They checked to make sure it could be done. Within an hour our cabin steward opened it up for us. There was a pin on top of the divider that hooked onto the side of the ship. It blocked half of our window.

its not-- when the divider is opened it will block the door to 7448

with this photo-- 7448- there is a lounge chair there.

if there is room for that lounge chair I cant see why they cant open the divider

  • 1 year later...

We sailed on Carnival Dream 7-20-2014. We had the aft wrap balcony cabin 7454, 7448 large balcony and 7444. Before we could even ask the steward Tito asked if we wanted the partitions open, and he opened them. The partitions did not block any of the windows.

We had a very big balcony! We loved it.

Just wanted to let anyone interested that they do open.
