danaps Posted March 25, 2013 Author #26 Share Posted March 25, 2013 Guest Relations can give you a list of all of the Smoking Areas. Thanks...someone on one of the Oasis threads (our next cruise) stated that there were "nicer" areas with seating and such. I will check once we board. danaps Posted March 25, 2013 Author #27 Share Posted March 25, 2013 We were on Allure two weeks ago. They have a "Cigars Under the Stars" area at night. It will be posted in the Cruise Compass. On Allure it was on the Port side above the Solarium. It is on the deck that is "Gold Card" members only. At night it is opened up for cigar smoking. Should be no problem for cigarettes. It is a beautiful open deck with a cover and very nice outdoor furniture. There is a bar and bartender there. We only do one cigar on the last formal night (a tradition started years ago). We went up there and there was only one other person. The bartender was very nice, so we had a brandy and our cigar, sat in the comfortable furniture and talked with the bartender. A very nice place to go for a quiet time in a beautiful setting. Your DH should check it out. I would assume Oasis would offer the same thing. Thanks - we will definitely check this out! Sounds lovely!
danaps Posted March 25, 2013 Author #28 Share Posted March 25, 2013 I went through and tried to list all of the places you can order drinks onboard and marked whether smoking or non smoking. I haven't been on Allure yet, so only going off what I have read in other posts/threads/reviews. I'm sure those that have been on the ship will correct anything that I might have wrong (I hope so anyway). Based on my list, I would not consider that "most" bars are smoking??? Non Smoking: Amber Theatre Bar- No Smoking Studio B Bar- No Smoking Comedy Live-No Smoking On Air Club- No Smoking Cafe Promenade/Sorrentos- No Smoking (not sure if they have the "small" bars at these locations like they do on other ships?) Rising Tide Bar- No Smoking Champagne Bar- No Smoking Diamond Club (Diamond and above members)- No Smoking Schooner Bar- No Smoking Rita's Cantina- No Smoking Boardwalk Bar- No Smoking Johnny Rockets- No Smoking Vintages- No Smoking Trellis Bar- No Smoking Concierge Club (Suite Guests, Pinnacle and D+ members)- No Smoking Main Dining Room- No Smoking 150 Central Park- No Smoking Park Cafe- No Smoking Giovanni's Table- No Smoking Chops Grill- No Smoking Spa Bistro- No Smoking Solarium Bistro/Samba Grill- No Smoking Solarium Bar-No Smoking Sand Bar- No Smoking Wipe Out Cafe-No Smoking Mast Bar- No Smoking Izumi- No Smoking Windjammer- No Smoking Wipe Out Bar- No Smoking Viking Crown Lounge- No Smoking Pinnacle Lounge- No Smoking No Smoking, I think?: Blaze-No Smoking (I think) Jazz on 4-No Smoking (I think) Bow and Stern - No Smoking (I think) Probably Smoking, I think?: Pool Bar- Smoking? Maybe? Sky Bar- Smoking? Maybe? Smoking: Casino- Smoking one side. Non Smoking other side. Boleros-Smoking at 6 stools at bar. No smoking at tables? (not sure if this accurate?) Dazzles- Smoking on top story only. Bottom floor Non Smoking Printing this out for the DH! (with all the additions....)
danaps Posted March 25, 2013 Author #29 Share Posted March 25, 2013 And not to nitpick, but, when you say balcony, you mean ocean view balcony, right? Oasis has lots of indoor balconies that are non-smoking. Yes, we have an OCEAN VIEW balcony. We have cruised enough to understand the difference.
redcrown Posted March 25, 2013 #30 Share Posted March 25, 2013 Thanks - we will definitely check this out! Sounds lovely! On the Oasis in February, the cigars under the stars was all day. Even though this is the suite sunbathing area during the day, they allowed cigar smoking all afternoon, not complaining just saying what was allowed. Two gentlemen tried smoking cigars on the pool deck on the smoking side and security escorted them up to the cigar bar.
ricardin Posted March 25, 2013 #31 Share Posted March 25, 2013 MY DH is a smoker and yes, we have a balcony cabin on our Oasis cruise in April. My question is where else is there for smokers to go other than the casino. Do they have "special" smoking areas on the ship? Thanks for the help! :) Being a smoker myself, and having just come off The Oasis, I can answer this for you. Obviously you know that you can smoke on your balcony if it is ocean facing (not Boardwalk balcony). You can smoke on deck 16, port side, and also deck 15, which is outside and slightly covered. They have 4 or 5 tables where you can smoke just by the Pool Bar. Inside, you can smoke at the the bar only in Boleros, and there are designated smoking areas in both Blaze and Dazzles nightclubs. Hopes this helps.
Georgiagolfer Posted March 25, 2013 #32 Share Posted March 25, 2013 Ships that have a cigar bar allow cigarette smoking as well. it is a very nice venue generally. I have only had one problem and that was when several women came in and lit up there cigarettes, then asked if I would stop smoking my cigar as it was really smelly. LOL I politely said this is "the cigar bar", I don't mind you smoking a cigarette in here but I won't be putting out my cigar. They crushed out their cigarettes and left in a huff. Good for you, us cigar smokers have to stand together. LOL
