Cruising89143 Posted March 25, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2013 I know that I cannot expect an exact answer as each sailing can be different but for anyone that has cruised on the Summit out of Bayonne, were there many kids on board during the summer months? The one thing we loved about our first X cruise was the lack of kids on board. I would expect NCL, Carnival and RCI to have plenty on their New York based ships but was curious about X. Please, no smart comments about kids. We don't hate children but would rather avoid ships filled with them.:)

A couple of years ago, we took Summit mid-July because we got a Tuesday Special deal. There were lots of kids on board, but it wasn't really a problem for us. We did "adult" things and never encountered any problems. No kids at the T-Pool during the day, the martini bar or casino at night, and if you have late seating, virtually no kids around in the dining room. Additionally, no kids at the Elite morning or evening functions. If you go up to the morning buffet for breakfast, they are all over the place. I avoided the buffet area except for one morning where I wanted a fresh waffle for breakfast. Personally, I wouldn't really worry about it. You are correct, there are very few kids on board for the labor day cruise however unfortunately that is Celebrity's last cruise for the season and is only 6 days. I did it last year. We also did Celebrity to Bermuda when our kids were younger and even back in the late 90s there were loads of kids. It is a great cruise for people on the east coast as there is no flying. Most on board will be from NJ, NY and Connecticut.
judatt Posted March 25, 2013 #8 Share Posted March 25, 2013 We did this cruise the first week of July and there were kids but I didn't consider them to be obtrusive in any way. We spent a good bit of time at the pool and it was not a problem at all.

roe2ship Posted March 25, 2013 #10 Share Posted March 25, 2013 We were on Summit in July and there were NOT many kids on board at all. I don't think there is nothing really to worry about.
