Review of Costa Atlantica 4-4-4

We had a fabulos time on the Costa Atlantica! Everything from the food to the service to the excursions to the room everything was great.

1) embarking was easy, I don't know if it was because we were in the suite or not but we got to the port at about 11:30am and we got right onto the ship. It was very smooth.

2) our cabin 6176 was beautiful and big. The bathroom was unbelivable and bigger than our bathroom in our bedroom at home. I was a bit surprised there wasn't a lounge chair on the balcony because they show it in the brochure, but other than that it was super.

3) Our butler Cris Plaza was excellent. He went out of his way to make sure we had a good time. He also called us one night after he was off duty to make sure we were awake to pick our son up from camp. A+!!!

4) Our cabin steward Edel was great too. He made sure we had extra everything and always asked our son if he needed anything. That made him feel like a grown up and made me feel good too.

5)As far as the 3 of us are concerned, the food was good. I didn't find that there was fish on everything because my son and I are allergic to fish and that would have freaked me out. My husband had fish almost every night. He is a picky eater and he was happy with everything. My son is a pizza and cheeseburger eater so there was plenty for him and I am a vegetarian and there was plenty for me as well except for 2 days at lunch. Thank goodness for gardenburgers.

4)Romeo our waiter was great. We only saw him a few times but when we did we were greeted with a smile and glasses of iced tea as soon as we sat down.

5) Our son loved the kids club. He couldn't wait to go every day. He was up as soon as the sun came up begging to go.

6) I felt alone on the ship. Honestly! I hardly saw people in any of the common areas except for in the main lounge, dining, and casino. Most of the other public rooms were practicaly empty. The adult pool was just that, adult! My husband and I found a couple of rooms that were empty for an hour or two. The kids and teens were actually well behaved on this ship. Perfect!

7) My husband wasn't too happy with the casino (that means I was!) He said there were too many roulette tables and not enough craps tables. There was only one.

8)Music was everywhere. in almose every lounge and there was music by the pools at night. We didn't see the big production shows, but our son did with the camp and he really liked them. He told us there was a lot of dancing and singing. And that the girls had on a lot of sparkles and feathers. Sorry this is a review by an 8 year old boy. I think he liked them because he met one of the dancers on the beach and he and his dad talked to her for a "long time".

9) The staff was great! If we had any question they were happy to find the answer if they didn't know it. We didn't have any problems so we didn't have to visit the guest services desk but for a foosball.

10) My husband almost died and went to heaven when we went to the bar on the first day and he ordered a BBC and they knew what it was. You can not get that here in the states, bartenders actually come to the table and ask you what the hell are you on to make a drink up like that.

11)We didn't find the other guests to be rude, a lot of them didn't speak English, but there was no shoving and butting and no one stole our lounge chairs by the pool.

12) the infirmiry was really nice. My son had an incident with his finger and the doctor saw him for free. Also if you get too sunburned you can see the doctor for $30 and get a note to get a refund for any excursions that you have booked. That didn't happen for me last year.

13) We had a great time at most of the ports. I was a little disapointed with the "private beach" come to find out the cruise lines rent a beach for the day to take there passengers to. I only spent a couple of hours there but my son and DH spent the whole day there. We did a city tour in Puerto Rico that was blah and depressing, I felt so sorry for the people there. St. Thomas was wonderful. We did the Champagne Catamaran tour and we were totally impressed. In Nassau my husband and son did a snorkling trip and said the water was cold and rough, so they didn't enjoy it.

14)Disembarking was rough. Since we were in a suite we got priority, but we definitly wern't ready to get off the ship at 8am. by time we made it down stairs it was closer to 9 and they had started letting other groups off of the ship. We got into the line and made it of without much wating, but when we went to get our luggage a piece was missing. After looking everywhere for it I noticed in our section there was another bag just like it and it had someone elses name on it. My husband called the phone number on it and the people it belonged to were already in Boca Raton with our bag. They came back to the port with it, thank goodness because if they didn't it would have been the 2nd suit my husband would have lost in a month. The first one had a cleaner incident.

15) Would I go back on Costa? YES INDEEDY! All the way around we were happy. I know that everyone has there own opinions, but I had the most wonderful time. I am trying to get the schedule for next spring so we can book now.

We were midship. We booked way to late to get one of those huge suites in the aft. Yes I feel that Costa was a great find, and hopefully they will have a cruise later in April next year.

We were in the same cabin but on the Med. The bathroom was great, bigger than mine at home also. When we checked in there was fresh fruit which was changed everyday a bottle of champ. and little tea sandwichs. We had a lounge chair on the balcony.
