1st time cruisers need Costa advice, please!

Hi, being that we're from the UK we're trying out the Med first on the Costa Medittaranea. We've read some bad reviews but say lifes what you make it. Anyway what I want to know is the policy for taking alcohol onboard in your luggage and can you take it on board when you stop off at the ports. I'm sure I'll think of loads more questions as and when!

We didn't take any in our luggage, but we did buy in some ports. We had to put it thru scanner when you got back to the boat but they didn't take it from us.

We took some in our luggage and it wasn't checked. Also purchased alcohol in port, they ran it through the scanner but didn't take it from us. If you buy it in the gift shop, they will not give it to you until the last day at sea.

We were on the Costa Mediterrean in Feb. and had a great time. We talked with a few from England & Scotland, nice mixture of cultures on the ship.
