should we budget for snorkeling or go for horseback excursion?

We're a newly cruising family from Nebraska that will be visiting Grand Turk next April via carnival. (Early yet, I know) We want to book an excursion this time, but budget allows for one only. The other 2 ports are Nassau and half moon cay, which will be our beach day. I'm not finding much in Nassau, so Grand Turk will be the excursion port. I will have saved for more than a year for this precious family experience, so I'm hoping for the best. Has anyone done both? Also, we'd prefer to book outside Carnival. Thank you kindly!

Grand Turk is a small island, with not a lot to do. I go either snorkel or scuba-diving there.

Look at the website Crystal Seas Adventures. They have nice trips on a small boat. April is still whale watching season. Last April, while scuba-diving, a whale shark showed and stayed to play with us for over 10 min, (I have video!)

While I agree on the snorkeling--it's great, especially out by the wall--from what I've seen of th ehorse back riding tours, if you ride, you get to explore the eastern side, where there aren't faciltiies, and up to the lighthouse and around. Some interesting sights. So it really depends on what you want, another day on the water or a bit of a land tour.
