Rijksmuseum is reopening

Just an FYI for those going on a Tulip Cruise: yesterday's NY Times featured an article ("Glories Restored") stating that the Rijksmuseum will reopen on April 13th after 10 years of renovation. It looks absolutely stunning and is not to be missed. Get your tickets on-line as they expect 2 million visitors a year.

Thats wonderful news as we had planned to visit in October 2013. Do you have to purchase for specific day.

You can purchase tickets online and no it's not for a specified time. Google Rikjsmuseum and you should be able to find it. Just be aware that you will no doubt stand in line to get in. Maybe someone else has more current info as we haven't been there in the last 2 years.

We are on the AMAPrima starting 5/8 and getting into Amsterdam several days early. I did already buy my Ryks tickets and the previous poster is correct, they are not dated, just good one year from the purchase date. (You print the tickets on your home computer.)

Anyone hear anything about buying tickets for the Van Gogh museum as it is scheduled to reopen May 1? They initially said tickets would go on sale mid-March and then end of March but it appears you can only buy tickets on-line for the current temporary location at the Hermitage and that closes towards the end of April. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
