Dumbtexan Posted April 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2013 Has anyone successfully used Skype to make calls using the onboard wifi?
CraftyEC Posted April 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2013 I haven't tried, but wouldn't do so as I think I'd be setting myself up to fail! I think there would be issues re bandwith / speed etc and I don't think it would work satisfactorily. And if more than one person tried I think the whole system would freeze. Sadly internet connections at sea are a LONG way from those to which we have become accustomed on land. Although it can be pretty ropey in some parts here! Mr Luxury Posted April 7, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2013 I just use my phone onboard which connects to the cellular at sea system.no problems there. There is always the phone in your suite which works fine.
CraftyEC Posted April 7, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2013 I was thinking about making face to face calls on Skype, which I don't think would work, but I can't see much advantage of using it for voice calls either.
