MrFunInTheSun Posted April 15, 2013 Author #127 Share Posted April 15, 2013 (edited) Good Day, welcome to Day Three of "Live" from the Jewel of the Seas... Last evening was a lot of fun and way to many adult beverages were drunk. I'm been slightly paying for it this morning.. but will press on. Today we are at sea and sea days are by far my favorite days. I've got a whole lot of nothing planned for today. But first up is to go get some coffee and enjoy the views of the open seas. Day three Compass I'll post pictures in a bit of the beautiful seas and scenes around the ship this beautiful day. Till a later time "Live" from the Jewel of the Seas... JandBR_PHX Posted April 15, 2013 #131 Share Posted April 15, 2013 (edited) No, she has the older stuff as she is slated for a dry dock/refurb some time next year, although I thought I read it may be delayed. We were on last week and the phone was ancient and we had a fat (not flatscreen) TV in the room. This didn't detract from our experience at all. The ship is stunning. Ashland reports that she isn't due till 2016 :(: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=37987473&postcount=50 Edited April 15, 2013 by JandBR_PHX fixed link to post
MrFunInTheSun Posted April 15, 2013 Author #132 Share Posted April 15, 2013 Bing Bong... It's been a beautiful day at sea! Had my coffee earlier today and made my way outside and sat with the old folks. All we could hear were the sound of waves. It was picture perfect. I may have nodded off a few times. That pesky hangover. These views never get old At 244 we were just off Cuba. We are traveling at about 10 knots to calm seas Activities on the pool deck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. abodom68 Posted April 15, 2013 #133 Share Posted April 15, 2013 Hello Cruise Travelers... What a wonderful day today has been aboard the jewel of the Seas... As noted earlier and with posted pictures, today was a picture perfect post card day. After making my ay back on the ship before all aboard at 430 I managed to arrive back on the ship soon enough for a brief nap..I mean watching cartoons. I then got to watch the last five passengers board the ship. Schooner Bar, love it. Not long after this exciting event I walked around the ship some making my way to the Champaign Bar for sunset and a frozen concoction and a martini. By the time I left there was way to late to go get ready to eat in the dining room and it was formal night so I ate in the Windjammer. After dinner I went back the room and got cleaned up and changed and made it to tonights show whatever its called, saw about 30minutes of it. It wasn't to bad. I'm not much of a show person but would say it was good. After the show I made my way to the Schooner bar for some great piano music, he, whatever his name is and my compass isn't handy to look his name up as I think I lost it.... anyways he's pretty good. Went to the Safari and watch part of the battle of the sexes. I then went to Casino Royale to donate some money. I was about $ 8.00 ahead on my first machine, I should have walked away for the night. Anyways I'm off to have a few more adult beverages and then call it a night. The energy is high on the ship, everyone is having a great time. The ship has a group of folks from Continental Tires on this ship, not really sure how many or what the occasion is, I would assume its a sales reward. Tomorrow, Monday is a Sea Day!! Wahoo, I love Sea days!!! Tonight towel animal Still to early to call it a night. Till a later time, "Live" from the Jewel of the Seas... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Please excuse any typographical errors. That's Gustavo - piano man...We are just off Jewel last Monday! Tell him Bridgette says hey!!!
MrFunInTheSun Posted April 15, 2013 Author #134 Share Posted April 15, 2013 Jewel of the seas Internet packages So sad that today is Monday already Had a nice nap earlier after then made my way around the ship stopping at the Solarium where I got some lunch at the cafe. Hit the spot I was so hungry. Well I'm off to find some new adventure, I'm feeling somewhat normal again. Guess I'm getting old I can't drink like that anymore. :-) Till a later time, "Live" from the Jewel of the Seas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Please excuse any typographical errors. MrFunInTheSun Posted April 15, 2013 Author #136 Share Posted April 15, 2013 Toured around the ship a bit more before another brief nap. After my nap I made my way to Champagne Bar again. Isn't this bar beautiful? Over seeing the beautiful ocean. When you fall off the horse you just jump right back on. What better way than a Bloody Mary. Tonight's menu After enjoying the view and my drink I'll make my way to Tides dining room. Not sure what will be on the agenda after that. Thank you all for the great comments. Thank you to those that have answered some of the questions that were asked. I think all that were asked got answered? If not please let me know. It's going to be another great evening aboard the Jewel of the Seas. Till a later time "Live" from the Jewel of the Seas.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Please excuse any typographical errors. Z350 Posted April 15, 2013 #139 Share Posted April 15, 2013 Love the pictures and your live postings, will be on her for the repostioning cruise in May, first time on the Jewel, we were on the Brilliance twice and also the Serenade but this is a first for the Jewel, like you we don't have far to go to get on the ship but will have to fly back from San Juan. I am in count down mode, so excited. Keep up the great work with your postings
suep Posted April 16, 2013 #140 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Love the review and pics! We'll be on the Jewel 2/1/14 (I know....a long wait away!). Our son and his gf will be travelling with us -- she's originally from Australia and loves bagels & lox; she's hoping they will be served on the Jewel. Are they offered in the windjammer? I know they serve this on Princess cruises -- but do they offer it on the Jewel?

Like what they use with captains party's. Wasn't able to get a list itself but that's what I was advised. There are sparkling wines too from whet I was advised. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. I had that every morning without the bagel. Delicious!

I had that every morning without the bagel. Delicious! It is on Jewel every morning. I almost missed it. It is in the stations on the far left and far right at the doors to the outdoor seating in the aft. They had some very fresh cukes sliced a bit long-ways that I would use instead of the bagel. It was the only healthy thing I did while I was on.
