bayonne, nj luggage storage

We are taking a cruise out of Cape Liberty cruise port in Bayonne, New Jersey. We are flying in on a red eye and will be arriving around 6:30 am. We would like to be able to do something with our luggage while we go to Ellis Island or the Statue of Liberty. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

There's no place to store luggage, so you're going to have to take your luggage with you when you tour. It will be too early for you to check your bags at the terminal, and you really don't want to do that because the ship will be off loading the bags from the previous cruise and your bags are sure to get lost in the insanity of everyone disembarking and looking to claim their bags.

Have you cruised out of this port before? Are there any hotels close by that you could rent a day room?
