Watching ships sail on Saturdays

tray

Recommended Posts

We are driving in from Houston to Port Canaveral two days early to enjoy our hotel and to watch the ships sail out on Saturday afternoon/evening.

It looks like Fishlips and Rustys are two favorites for sitting outside and watching the ships sail. Can you all tell me what time we should get there to ensure getting a table outside? Do they take reservations?

Thanks so much!

Okay, perfect!! Actually there will be about 8 of us, so should I call? We don't sail until June 23, so I guess it's too early yet! Can you tell I'm excited?? :D

I would give them a call. I did last year as I set up a meet and greet for my roll call at Fishlips. They set up tables for my group out on the deck and we had a nice time. The food was good and had a great view of the Saturday sail always.

If you don't want to do the restaurant thing just go to Jetty Park. There's a small fee to enter, but you will be right there where the ships come by just as they are about to enter the ocean. They will be so close you will feel like you can almost reach out and touch them. Lots of people will be there to do the same thing.

If you have small kids there's a playground right there too. Good way for the kids to blow off some steam after a long car ride....
