jrm9999 Posted April 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2013 Does anyone know if the motorcoaches used by the cruise line tours (not the private companies with smaller buses) have a restroom on board? I guess the other question is how long is the bus ride on the following tours: White pass railroad one way and motorcoach the other. How long is the motorcoach portion? Alaska Excursions Musher and Sled Dog Camp. How long is the drive to/from the camp? I am looking at the one shown here: https://www.alaskaexcursions.com/site/excursion/sleddog_sk I realize the sled dog camp says 9 miles of coastline drive from town, but wanted to ask as some mountain area 9 miles can take a long time. huskyguy Posted April 22, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2013 The first one is about an hour, in a full-sized motorcoach -most of the ones they use have a washroom, but a few don't. The musher's camp is about half an hour, in a minibus.
jamminlion Posted April 22, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2013 There are restrooms on the train you can use. They aren't fancy. And they are for urine only. Motorcoaches - I don't think so, but am not 100% on that. Where's BudgetQueen?
Budget Queen Posted April 22, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 22, 2013 There are bathrooms on the train, bus already mentioned. Train ride one way is about 1.5 hours, rest of your trip is bus. The "mountain" driving, is a regular 2 lane highway. And there should be at least porta potties at the dog sled camp.
