VickiD59 Posted April 28, 2013 #26 Share Posted April 28, 2013 The mini fridge sucks... it took 2 days to get the stuff cold. Lame. Technically... it's not a fridge, more like a cold box with a door. It will keep previously cold things cool - but it won't.. say make a warm soda cold or chilled, no. I see it referred to as a fridge many times, but it's not, as you can attest ;)

Briitini Posted April 28, 2013 Author #28 Share Posted April 28, 2013 dive in movie nice seating area above lido deck that goes all the way around. it rained tonight, but not long. that is the only time we saw rain for the entire cruise! I really liked this ship for the most part. The ship was enormous, but it never felt that "big" and it never felt crowded. The people that talk about the sewage smell all the time are CORRECT. I have a ridiculously sensitive sense of smell and I can't remember how many different times I smelled the sewage smell.. alllll over the boat!!! today it was time to wake up and enjoy the decks before all the others woke up. We headed up to serenity to check it out. i did not like it because there was not a pool there. i am not someone who can bake in the sun without getting in the water every so often. i also did not care for the fact that it was so far away from the breakfast and lunch facilities. even if you wanted to get a lemonade or tea you had to go down a bunch of stairs and half of the ship to get there. i prefer to be able to walk down some stairs and be right there. (like on the imagination) to me serenity was way too secluded, so i chose to lay out by the main beach pool which provided prime people watching.. we had some real gems on this cruise lol. brekkie before heading to the main beach pool.. this was at likee 7:30am. i am totally an early riser. these breakfast burritos were great and NOT a long wait!! yes!! Main beach pool.. i did not notice tons of chair hogs at all. all of the chairs around the pool were taken of course.. but most of the people were in the pool, at the water park, eating and coming back, or in their chairs. i was sitting under the straw hut thing (idk what to call it) and a family was around the pool with a few little kids watching them.. (like they are supposed to!!!) and i heard the grandma yell.. omg they are taking our stuff! and literally ran from the beach pool.. up the 2 sets of stairs and to the very top deck by the water park and point to the pool. when she got back she said the guy was really rude when she said she was at the pool with the kids. i felt offended for her because they were by the pool watching the kids swim because all the loungers by the pool were taken. its not like she was back in her room napping or gone for hours. they were being responsible WATCHING their kids like they should have been doing! thats the only time i noticed any items being taken, but were put back. one day I was in my lounger and my bf decided to go back to the room and nap. there was a single lounger next to his and saw a couple put their stuff on one and were just sharing it. i told them they could use my boyfriends until he got back. the guy quickly got up when he came back. sharing is caring people!! TIP 5 --> IF YOU WANT A LOUNGER, I SUGGEST YOU BE AT THE POOL AREA NO LATER THAN 9AM. beautiful day!
Briitini Posted April 28, 2013 Author #29 Share Posted April 28, 2013 I had to go to the quick meeting for the mixology contest.. i did some exploring as well. Briitini Posted April 28, 2013 Author #30 Share Posted April 28, 2013 Just curious, how much did you pay for the upgrade from inside to balcony, and at what time before your cruise did you get the upsell offer? We had the same issue with our cabin steward on our Legend cruise, no formal intro, we actually removed our fridge contents ourselves and communicated our needs by using stcky notes, so sad! I did not pay anything and less than a month before the cruise. I know people from Carnival.

daremi82 Posted April 28, 2013 #32 Share Posted April 28, 2013 we had an african american gentleman.. i believe from cambodia. meaning i have no idea what his name was :/ :( C'mon it's 2013...... He can't be African American AND from Cambodia. First Cambodia isn't in Africa. Second, if he probably wasnt African American if he's a room steward on a cruise ship with an accent. Could happen but probably not as not many American citizens work as room stewards. I'll guess he was dark skinned?....Doesn't make him African American. But I digress:(
Briitini Posted April 28, 2013 Author #33 Share Posted April 28, 2013 I have a question about your room on Lido. We sailed the Breeze in Jan. and had a cove balcony which I really liked but my DH didn't like the lifeboats above as it blocked the view of the stars. We are planning on booking Oct. on the Breeze. He also likes to look down at the water-spends a lot of time on the balcony!!-and I know many of the balconies have a blocked view of the water because of promenade deck. Can you tell me how your balcony on Lido was?Pat Yes, the view was partially blocked. The only time this was annoying was when we were docked in Nassau and wanted to see the pier runners. I could see the waves from the front of the boat and all of that though. I'll see if I can post a pic.

Briitini Posted April 28, 2013 Author #38 Share Posted April 28, 2013 so anyways, back to my review before i was rudely interrupted. RON!!! How will they replace him?!!? LIVE THIRSTY!! Beautiful!! I loved this little place other than the live singer Ryan. Ryan was talented and sang a lot of country but seemed very full of himself and begged for tips. I don't agree with that at all. He could have done it in a less of an invasive way like Ron Pass. That's the beauty of a cruise ship, if you don't care for someone you can elect not to see that person. Loved the colors the lanai outside of red frog

I would love to take this tram ride so I can get this photo you took. I love the whole shoreline, and maybe I could catch a whale sighting! Cheers program is $295 right? How much are drinks single price, so how many drinks do you have to drink to make it worth the cost? I also heard on a few reviews that the crew were not as attentive to the cheers program customers. Did you have any issues with that? Loving your review thanks for taking the time to share!!!
Briitini Posted April 28, 2013 Author #46 Share Posted April 28, 2013 good mornin jamaica watching the arrival from the "secret deck" sooooooooo i've been to jamaica before. back in 2009 we went not knowing what we would do. we got off the ship and just found a tour company. we asked them to take us to dunns river falls and got to experience that. after dunns river we asked olive the tour operator from juta tours how much for a tour of jamaica. she gave us a good deal for $10 per person and it lasted about 1.5 hrs. this time we planned on the same thing. we got off the boat and went to the little blue mountain coffee place to the left of the port area and bought wifi for $3 for 2 hours. we only needed it for a few minutes, so off we went to the taxis. i found 2 people standing to the side and they worked for the same juta company. we asked how much for a tour and he said 10$ each to the falls.. $20 at the falls per person for entry. we accepted.. got into this tiny van (last tour in 2009 was a very nice van). he continued to bring people and was squeezing everyone in. we got to the falls and decided we did not want to pay $20 a person to go to the falls because I had saw them before. He charged us $25 for a "tour" while the others went to the falls. i clearly explained to him that last time, his coworker olive took us to an overlook of jamaica and we were able to stop and have a red stripe and buy some knick nacks and thats what i wanted to do. he basically took us up into the "canopy" of the rainforest and brought us to some sketchy place off the road selling all kinds of things. this is not what i asked, but whatever. i was over it. after this i told him to talk us to scotchies to get some jerk chicken. sooo glad we did this.. AMAZING FOOD!!!!! canopy roadside selling

The tram is worth it.. beautiful place to visit!!! we paid 295$ minus $125 each from an OBC.. we drank the more expensive drinks.. i had super premium martinis and a lot of the beautiful lady martinis from the limelight lounge. there were only a couple days we maxed out on our limit. the last day i had 1 drink. i did calculate everything roughly and it was MORE than worth it. i never ever ever had ANY issues with bar staff not being attentive to us with the cheers program. i never heard anything like that from anyone else on board either.
