What is with all the crying over QOTS?

Recommended Posts

It's becoming clear to me that the real question is... What's all the crying by those who can't accept that not everyone is as in love with the ship as they are.

Or...why can't some accept that some like what they see and look forward to cruising on the QOS!?:D

That's fine if you like what you see. Good for you! There are folks that have some concerns. It seems that all some people want to hear is that this is the greatest ship ever.

I understand people having concerns. My issue was with some(not all) who have condemned the ship as awful when probably not even half has been revealed about it. Of course people did the same with Oasis and Allure, Celebrity Reflection among others. Just my opinion but I want to wait till more is revealed before rending a final decision

I really don't think anyone has a problem with you or anyone else expressing their concerns with what's been revealed thus far.

Personally, I focus on positive things rather than dwelling on negativity or "concerns". I am looking forward to more information being released about the Quantum class and reserving a cruise when bookings open up in a couple weeks.

Happy cruising. :D

Tyron, I feel exactly the same way. Just my choice to look at things in a positive perspective too. I hope RCI releases more information very soon, maybe it will put the negativity to rest a bit or possibly not. You can't please everyone I guess. Happy Cruising!

What is "personal experience"?

How about ships facts, images, deck plans, menus?

What if "personal experience" says nothing more than "we had a fantastic cruise on the Carnival Ecstasy"?

I've seen it a thousand times on these boards.

Examples.

- The food was mediocre!

- How did you like the Atrium Cafe and Pub Lunch?

-...... the OP disappears (did not see those venues)

- I have never felt crowded!

- Look at this picture (crazily packed sun deck).

- ....the OP disappears (spent the cruise in the casino)

Etc...

Some people here are not expressing their "opinions" - they are pointing out facts.

Example.

Isn't it clearly presented by the cruise line that the QOS will have less open space than the Freedom class but will carry more passengers?

:)

No this is not clear and there are no facts yet! This has been everyone's negative opinion from looking at the "Incomplete Deck Plans" with no pictures of all the new spaces to come. I for one look forward to seeing how the size actually feels when I go on board.

People are very offensive ranting their negative opinions about this ship when none of them including the people building it have any experience with it yet! If you don't want to go then great, leave it alone. I'm going and I can't wait!!!

I don't care what it looks like or how small it feels or what amenities it has. The Home port location is what's making my decision as well many others. It's nice for us New Jersians and New Yorkers to be excited about getting something special from RCCL for a change. I'm excited!!!!! Why can't people just let us have our moment and be happy for us?

THANK'S RCCL!!!!

Then the question becomes WHY hang around a thread that's discussing the Quantum if you have "concerns" and no interest in cruising on this particular class???

That's great that there are so many positive people here. I consider myself to be one of them. Being positive does not mean pretending to be thrilled with something when you are not. I'm truly glad to see that so many people are excited about the Q and I'm sure you will have a great cruise. For me, maybe I'll sail on her some day... Maybe not.

Maybe try the Breakaway from NYC. I have friends that want me to try the Breakaway too but I don't want to switch to another cruise line at this point. I cruise with RCI because of all the perks I get. I will sail Quantum at least once because it's here in my home state and I'm curious. I was on the fence about the Oasis class and tried each ship. They are great ships, a little too large for my tastes. I sailed on the Radiance of the Seas years ago and hated the ship. I know others loved it. Everyone has a different opinion which they are entitled too. But I'm not going to condemn the ship without ever sailing on it. I will reserve my opinion and keep an open mind until I sail on the Quantum. If I love it, it will be my ship of choice and if not, well then I'll be flying to the ships I love. It's a simple decision for me.

Great post Anne! Breakaway was on my radar too until I saw those tiny balconies! That turned me off right away

Thanks Chris, I'm sure some of the haters will pick on me about my opinion. Oh well, it's easier to be nice. Being nasty only stresses me out. Happy Cruising!

Have number eleven booked on the Explore in January 2014.
Lucky you, I really wanted to sail on Explorer one more time before she left Bayonne but not sure I can make that happen. Will have to look at maybe a quick 5 night Bermuda cruise. Have a great time!

Ditto!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what they are offering for entertainment on the Breakaway, but the balconies situation is totally turning me off... that and when I read through the specialty restaurant menus (which is where we eat all our dinners) I wasn't impressed. I've decided to skip a 2014 trip on the Breakaway and just wait and do a B2B on the Quantum for Spring 2015

I live in Atlanta and normally sail out of FL. However, I am thrilled that this ship will be sailing out of NJ because it will give me a chance to explore NY further. I have no specific loyalty to any crusie line. I just like to travel. I plan to book QOTS because, quite frankly, it looks amazing and the 12 day itinerary looks fantastic.

The regular balconies are notably terrible in size. But check out the B1 (aft) balconies and their size if size matters. These are great size, and half covered. They are already having the staff put lounge chairs on many of them, and though the cost is a little more than a regular balcony, these are amazing size and views. The HC balconies offer a huge rume and balcony as well for those who book HC rooms.

And my post on an NCL board about the balcony

Take a look at these pictures of aft balcony rooms on deck 12. One is standard, on is HC. Very deep, 3/4 covered, can put a lounge chair out there they are so big! Pull back and be covered, pull out and tan.

I hate the itinerary, but want to do the ship, and sail out of NYC. We have some great things planned for the not so great ports (kayak in FL, free private guide compliments of the people of Nassau and the tourist bureau, and soaking up the sun on the private island).

Hey Jamescc, its all good my friends and I are more than willing to fly in from California to board her summer of 2015. Enjoy having her in your backyard.

Thanks, we in the North East will enjoy her. She will be a huge success despite the loud crying still going on around here. We will welcome you here to sail Quantum with open arms!
