Blondie008 Posted April 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2013 How far (how long) is the Sorrento by bus excursion - it says 4.5 hours, but is that 4.5 hours travel time, or is that, there, back and including tme spent there?
AmoMondo Posted May 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2013 Hi Blondie, If it helps, the train takes 65 minutes. We found it cheap and relaible with a service every 30 minutes. It does have a lot of sips (bit like the Edinburgh to Glasgow Central chugaboom service, simpered ronthe slick Queen Street Service)

We are (friends and us) on NeoR, other mutual friends are in Sorrento when we cruise - wondering if lunch was "do able" - think DH and I will pass but our friends might take the excursion bus and meet up - we aint going long busy journeys and if its 65 mins by train - the costs bus must be longer - cant really have much time in Sorrento then - mybe get the other friends to come down to naples instead lol! Capricruiser Posted May 1, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2013 The easiest and fastest way from Naples to Sorrento and vice versa is the hydrofoil service. They leave from the docks next to the Naples cruise terminal and take about 35 minutes from port to port. You just need to hope there's one leaving when you want. You can probably find the hours and costs with an internet search.

AnonymousCruiser69 Posted May 1, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 1, 2013 sorrento is quite beautiful and the drive down the amalfi coast is stunning. as another suggestion, try to hire a cab for a fixed rate. they hang around outside the port. i hired one for the day for about 70 euros, if memory serves.
