Sterling casino's "ambassador II"

Recommended Posts

We live near Cape Canaveral Florida and recently went out on a gambling ship that purports to be "the largest casino ship in the world". The current name of the vessel is the Ambassador II and it has the look and feel of an old small cruise ship. Anyone know if this ship was indeed a former cruise ship?

Thanks

This is actually a former ferry. She was built in Germany 1970 as PRINS OBERON for the now-defunct Swedish-owned Prinsen Line for ferry service between Sweden and Germany. She operated as a ferry under many names and flags until converted to a casino ship in 1997-99.
