BlackEyes Posted October 2, 2009 #26 Share Posted October 2, 2009 non-smoking cruise, i think more people are smoking and they like to smoke while they are on a cruise especially when it is cold..But on the other hand non-smoking cruise will be great for those people who don't like smoking.. downsized Posted October 3, 2009 #27 Share Posted October 3, 2009 On our cruise in Hawaii (aboard the POA), Hawaiian law is VERY anti-smoking ("after all, it's for your health!"). Legally, we could smoke in our cabins, but not on our balconies (it might offend someone else on a nearby deck!) Just about the only "public" smoking area was the Oasis Bar on the 11(?) deck aft. One day at the Oasis, we noticed 2 couples that wandered back and each of the 4 took his or her own separate table. One near us then leaned over and exclaimed that my smoke "bothered" him, and that I should extiguish it! Before I could respond (or offer the guy "swimming lessons") the waitress zoomed over and told him that if the smoke bothered him, he should leave and go somewhere else! I could safely guess that at least 20 of us applauded her! She did very well on tips that afternoon!
